Sunday March 29th 2009 Fly from Picayune, MS to New Iberia, LA, Pick-up Cotton and take him to Mobile, AL. Hand him off to PNP Pilot Don. Don to take Cotton to KPDK, Peachtree just north of Atlanta and hand him off to PNP Pilot Jim. Jim flies Cotton the 3rd leg to Lincolnton, NC .

Baton Rouge, LA before sunrise. New Iberia, LA just after sunrise.

FYI
Acadiana Regional Airport.
At 8:00am there is no bathroom or fuel.
Emil and Chantal have arrived to pick-up Cotton.

Linda is waiting for us. OK, so we had to go to a local gas station for coffee and a rest room.

And then it was back to the task at hand. How you like the safety harness?

OK Here we go. I use a chain now.
No more chew through.

I'm being a good boy. That 40 MPH wind is working for us. We are moving, FAST.

I'm still a good boy. We arrived in Mobile, AL
and Don arrived at the same time. Pure luck.

Don and his friend unloaded two pups headed for TX. I took Cotton for a walk and let Don and his friend take him off our hands.

Cotton seems to be rather mellow now. Now he is on his way to Atlanta.

PNP Pilot Jim arrives at Lincolnton about 2 hours ahead of schedule. Boy what a tropical force tailwind will do. Pilot Jim and Cotton.

Hey Jim, I'm Hungry.

I could eat cat food right now. What's this, no more airplanes?

Another Hand-Off ! OK, Thanks for the ride.

COOL A Yard.

Is this my new home? Can I keep him?

He's in the car with Vick and headed back towards Elijah's House in Greensboro, NC.
Thank you everyone for making this happen!

YES!!!!!!!!  Thank you to all the fabulous pilots who continue to amaze me by giving this generous gift to all of us who work in rescue.  Your willingness to help the animals in need speaks as to the type of caring individuals you are....

Thanks to the rescue gals who work in the trenches everyday-- you are saving lives and making a difference with every animal who is fortunate enough to cross your path.....It has been my pleasure working with all of you.
